“SOMA Office Spaces” is here to help you, but why you should choose SoMa for your location?
“Walk through San Francisco’s bustling SoMa neighborhood and you’d be forgiven for thinking that the economic roller coaster of the last 12 years was nothing more than a bad dream. “ – John Macon
San Francisco is the cultural and business center of Northern California. It has long been the hub for huge tech companies, but it’s also home to a variety of local businesses. The economy of the city has increasingly been tied to that of Silicon Valley and hi-tech companies – both large and small – have city offices. Finance and tourism are vital to San Francisco, but it’s also building a reputation for biotechnology.
San Francisco is a global city, a status that pre-dated the city’s popularity during the California Gold Rush. It is characterized by its ethnic clustering, international connections, and technological innovation. The city has typically lower-class neighborhoods, and expensive ones with newly developed buildings. This creates a population of highly educated, white-collar individuals as well as blue-collar workers. Many immigrants are drawn to the city’s increasing number of opportunities. That’s partly because San Francisco is a hotspot for entrepreneurs and start-ups with at least three-quarters of the city’s businesses employing 10 people or less.
SoMa “South of Market” is San Francisco’s most rapidly changing neighborhood. Its old industrial areas get redeveloped into new expensive condos, convention centers and office parks. The neighborhood consists of warehouses, auto repair shops, nightclubs, residential hotels, art spaces, loft apartments, furniture showrooms, condominiums and offices of tech companies. Its old residential areas are constantly revitalizing. SoMa is one of the most accessible parts of San Francisco now that both Hwy 280 and the train station terminate which makes it a preferable location for many small and big business offices. SoMa is home to the headquarters of several major software and Internet companies. At the east end just south of Market Street are many office spaces which have spilled over from the Financial District along with new highrise condominiums.
Upper SoMa is mainly old industrial space now housing an eclectic mix of small businesses, restaurants, and clubs. During the day the active small businesses here service most of San Francisco.
Lower SoMa offers many modern furniture showrooms and architectural firms. Businesses such as the Academy of Art, Wired Magazine, Vivid Publishing and many creative multimedia software office spaces still flourish here.
